Founded in 2007, Angela’s Pizza & Deli set out to make a name for itself in the local community of Plantsville, CT. Now 15 years later, we’re proud to say we’ve got the recipe for success nailed down. The moment you walk through our doors, the comforting aroma of freshly baked pizzas will lead you to our front desk, where our staff eagerly awaits your order. From there, you can look over our Italian-inspired menu proudly displayed on our wall, featuring some of our signature dishes like our Eggplant Parmesan, Penne a la Vodka, and Buffalo Chicken Pizza, as well as our hand-picked daily specials.
Refajet Seferi, head chef and owner, first envisioned Angela’s after moving to the United States nearly 20 years ago. Born and raised in a small village in Macedonia, located directly across from the Italian boot, Refajet got a taste of the culinary world from a young age. He and his brother would often compete to see who could make the best sandwiches, and to this day, he insists he always won. Yet, the more daunting challenge Refajet had to conquer was establishing himself in an entirely new place. He started as a dishwasher at a small pizza place in Naugatuck, given that he spoke little English when he first arrived in the states. Just two years later, Refajet started making his dream come true: opening his own restaurant. Now, he and Lulieta are ready to share their passion for good food with the rest of Connecticut.
Angela’s first location on Buckland Street opened in 2007, when Refajet and his wife and sidekick co-owner, Lulieta, were raising both a newborn and a young toddler. Safe to say, it was no easy journey. However, thanks to their unrelenting drive and dedication to quality and creative dishes, Angela’s Pizza & Deli quickly became a local treasure. Since moving to the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in 2020, Angela’s clientele has grown, with customers returning for their classic favorites from day one.
